Graduation Weekend

Well, it's official...I'm a college graduate. It still doesn't seem real. I had a wonderful weekend surrounded by my amazing family and friends, but it went by too fast.

I went home Tuesday-Thursday to help my mom get our house ready for my graduation party. I got back to Carrollton in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a group of older girls in the sorority and it was so much fun!

Friday was my last day at work and the sweet ladies in my office threw me a going away party. There was lots of yummy food and orange and blue balloons for Auburn! They even gave me a graduation gift! I am going to miss all of them so much! On Friday afternoon my roommate Lauren and our neighbor-across-the-hall Kelly had a graduation photo shoot on our university's sign.

On Friday night we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant to celebrate Bree's 20th birthday.

Saturday was Graduation Day! Our school splits graduation into two ceremonies so lucky for Lauren, Kelly, and I ours was at 2:00 so we had all morning to take our time getting ready. The ceremony ran very smoothly and I loved our speaker. Johhny Isakson, one of Georgia's state senators, gave the commencement address. I actually met him when I was 17 on a trip to Washington, D.C. and I have been a fan of his since. We were each only given 10 tickets for graduation, so obviously my whole family couldn't come, but I enjoyed having my parents, brother, one of my aunts, one of my cousins, and my grandparents there!

After graduation I came home to help my parents finish preparing for my graduation party on Sunday. The party was so much fun, but sadly I didn't take any pictures :(  It never even crossed my mind to take pictures until the whole thing was over. We had my whole family and some sweet family friends stop by and we had lots of yummy food! As far as presents go, I got lots of moo-lah and my cousins gave me two really nice bags for graduate school, one of them even holds hanging files...I love them! My parents gave me money and also promised me a new car this summer!!! Yay!!! We talked about it later that night and my Dad explained that they had looked at cars, but the two of them couldn't decide what type of car would be best, so instead of surprising me, they are going to let me help pick it out! I am one happy girl!

I don't think that the fact that I have graduated has really set in yet. I'm just enjoying being home and sleeping in right now. Sooner or later I have to get around to unpacking everything, but that's no fun!
